2017 Native Fine Arts Holiday Market

& Artist Demonstrations



Friday, December 1 - Sunday, December 3

The Annual Native Fine Arts Holiday Market showcases a wide array of handcrafted artwork made by Native artists from across the country - a wonderful opportunity to find unique gifts for friends and family. Throughout the weekend, artist demonstrations will be held at the museum next door at the market. Come learn about traditional art techniques, resources, and material culture with demonstrations by native artists.

Participating artists include:

Cyndee Fox-Starr (Omaha/Odawa/Arikara): beadwork, moccasins, ribbon skirts/shirts
Joanne Perret (Pennobscot) of Native Visions: Santa Clara pottery, Jemez & Acoma pottery, Lakota dolls, Navajo Zuni jewelry, Santa Domingo jewelry
Nelson Garcia (Santo Domingo): metal and stone jewelry
Norma Robertson (Sisseton Wapehton) & Robert Wapati (Santee Sioux): various beadwork, keychains, baby moccasins, pen and ink art
Mike Smith (Onieda) of Giclée prints of original paintings, hand painted shirts
Tom Berreth (Gwich’in) of Berre enterprise: Navajo sand painting, Navajo silversmith jewelry
Sharlyn Bokus (Choctaw/Navajo) of Sharlyn: turquoise/silver and beadwork, Choctaw baskets

Preview Party Admission: $25 / $20 members

Holiday Market:

Saturday, December 3

10:00am - 5:00pm

Sunday, December 4

Noon - 4:00pm

Holiday Market Admission: Free.

Artist demonstrations are held next door in the

museum’s library are included with regular museum admission.
